I just found out on their now-defunct website: Allied Costumes in Winter Park, Florida has officially closed. The deep recession was too much for them to survive. Ultra-Gor was born there 5 years ago this month. Between February and May 2004 I became attached to the owner Dennis, the seamstress Trish, and Allan the heavy-duty man, having to stop by weekly to check on the progress of the Big Monkey in Red. And we all were jumping up & down when the super gorilla looked at himself in the mirror for the first time and liked what he saw. This is very hard for me to swallow right now. I only hope the Allied people have found work elsewhere.
